Instructions for Admission to practice before the Northern District of Mississippi

All petitions for admission to the bar of this Court are to be submitted on the Oath on Admission Form and in accordance with L.U.Civ.R. 83.1(a)(1) and all petitioners for admission to the bar of this Court must be members in good standing of the Mississippi Bar.

The following documents shall be emailed or mailed to the clerk’s office at the address below. If you choose to email your documents, they must be scanned to a single PDF file.

Completed Oath on Admission Form, including your signature and MS Bar # and the signature and MS Bar # of your sponsoring attorney. The judge will sign your Oath of Admission after you are sworn in.

$198.00 admission fee

If you send your admissions paperwork via mail, you must send a check or a money order at that time. Checks should be made payable to “Clerk, U.S. District Court”.

If you email your admissions paperwork, you must call the clerk’s office and pay by credit card.

Certificate of Good Standing from the Mississippi Bar or Supreme Court, dated within the last 60 days.

Cover Letter including your email and preferred contact information for chambers to contact you to schedule an appointment.

Where the requirements for admission are met, chambers will contact you to schedule an appointment to be sworn in. Where the requirements are not met, the petitioner will be contacted with appropriate instructions.
