Online registration for the POWER Act event has begun. The event will be held in person the afternoon of August 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Our House, 1213 VFW Road, in Greenville, Mississippi. A virtual option will be available as well.
Chief Judge Debra M. Brown will make opening remarks followed by presentations from our partners offered in two sessions:
Session One:
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.: “Victimology Resources” by Dr. Patricia Ann Davenport, LSW of Our House
2:00 - 3:00 p.m.: “The Changing Landscape of Tribal Law” by Tim Taylor, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians
Session Two:
3:15 - 4:15 p.m.: “I Am My Brother’s Keeper” by Gayla Carpenter-Sanders, Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project
4:15 – 4:45 p.m.: “AGO Resources for Domestic Violence Victims” by Anna Claire Norman, Mississippi Office of the Attorney General
3.5 hours of CLE credit available.
