Court Now Accepting Applications for CJA Panel (application now posted)

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi is accepting applications for membership on its Criminal Justice Act Panel.  The CJA Panel consists of a group of private attorneys who are eligible and willing to be appointed to provide representation to defendants under the Criminal Justice Act.  Attorneys eligible for appointment to the CJA Panel must be members in good standing of the federal bar in the Northern District, and have demonstrated prior experience in, and knowledge of, the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the Federal Rules of Evidence, and the United States Sentencing Guidelines.  CJA Panel members are compensated in accordance with the Criminal Justice Act and CJA Guidelines. Applications for membership on the CJA Panel are available upon request made to David Crews, Clerk of the Court for the Northern District, to whom completed applications should be sent.  All qualified attorneys are encouraged to apply.  Selection for membership on the CJA Panel will be made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin or disabling condition.
